Education

At the  Diakriton Collection – we believe that learning is an experiential process that engages all the senses. The Education Department welcomes all age groups and designs programs for everyone, aiming for each individual to connect knowledge with their personal experiences and memories.

Enriched Guided Tour for School Groups

For the 2025–2026 school year, we welcome school groups with a new way of exploring: the Enriched Guided Tour, a dynamic and adaptable approach that uses the exhibition space itself as a place of learning and hands-on experience. The guided tour through our Collections incorporates the use of visual materials, on-site activities, discovery and observation of objects, and short worksheets, offering students a meaningful, active, and enjoyable introduction to the culture of Crete.

Teachers may choose a specific thematic unit or an enriched guided tour of the entire Diakrites Collection, depending on the interests of their class.
Tour duration: 45–60 minutes.

The guided tour in all thematic units can be offered in English, Italian, and French.

The Head of the Education Department is museologist–museum educator Fani Kampani.
